INTRODUCTION TO AEROSPACE MANUFACTURING TRAINING PROGRAM

Overview

Welcome to the Women In Aerospace | Welcoming Immigrant Women to Aerospace workforce development project. The Strong Link has developed the Introduction to Aerospace Manufacturing training program to support this project and its participants.

 

The program consists of four stages:

1. Introduction to Aerospace Manufacturing Course

2 Hours | Delivered Live Virtually over Zoom | Mandatory (Must Attend)

2. Mentorship Event

1.5 Hours | Delivered Live Virtually over Zoom | Mandatory (Must Attend)

​

  • Participants who complete both the Introduction to Aerospace Manufacturing course and the Mentorship Session will obtain a The Strong Link | WIA Introduction to Aerospace Manufacturing Training Certificate, which can be listed on a resume or cover letter. 

​

  • Participants must attend and complete both the Introduction to Aerospace Manufacturing Course and the Mentorship Event to conduct the complete the Women In Aerospace | Welcoming Immigrant Women to Aerospace workforce development project.

3. Additional Industry Informational Videos & Resources

Several pre-recorded 15-20 min videos on various additional topics are available below. Participants will be able to watch the videos to learn more about the aerospace manufacturing industry in Ontario.

4. Skill-Gap Report

​

The Strong Link has surveyed over 50 leaders in industry to gather first-hand feedback regarding in-demand technical skills. Please complete the 10-minute online employer skills assessment and receive an individualized report comparing your results with employer feedback to guide your employment journey.

The Introduction to Aerospace Manufacturing Course is designed to provide an overview of the types of industries, regulatory framework, businesses and potential employment positions available within the aerospace manufacturing sector in Ontario.

The Mentorship Session is designed to allow each participant the opportunity to engage with leaders from the aerospace manufacturing sector, to ask questions and obtain advice to enable your employment journey.

STAGE 4 | Skill Gap Report

Complete the individualized TSL Newcomers to Canada Employability Skills Self Assessment

The Strong Link surveyed over 50 leaders to assess the most non-technical skills sought after by employers and leaders in industry.

​

Complete the 10-min assessment by clicking the link below. An individualized report showing your responses in comparison to employer feedback will then be emailed to you.

​

All answers provided will NOT be shared with any potential employers. The results generated are meant to enable insight for the participant only.

​

The Assessment covers 51 questions over the following categories:
